Annual report of Swietelsky AG for 2021/22 published

29.07.2022

The past financial year was able to build on the success of the previous year.

With a growth in construction output of ten percent, the earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) improved slightly again, while the EBT stands at EUR 147.2 million, between the comparative figures of the last two years.

It is also pleasing that the equity ratio was further increased to 35.4 percent despite unchanged high investment readiness. Overall, the management board assesses the development of 2021/22 very positively, especially since all core markets delivered substantial contributions to results. The nearly unchanged high order backlog is also a solid basis for the coming years.

The overall economic development remains difficult to predict. "Our healthy capital structure is of great importance against the backdrop of inflationary price jumps in building materials and a shortage of essential raw materials. In this situation, SWIETELSKY's strategy of offering a broad range of services, maximizing diversification across all construction sectors and markets of the group, as well as proactive management of project and contract risks, can prove itself once again," said the members of the management board in their preface to the report. The motto remains: profit comes before revenue. In an increasingly difficult economic environment, the goal is to continue achieving solid results on average over the last years.

With great commitment, they also want to address the well-known challenges posed by the shortage of skilled workers. In addition, it is important to further strengthen SWIETELSKY's innovative power and to support the climate transition for their own business advantage. These efforts are also documented in the sustainability report of Swietelsky AG, which was published for the second time in December 2021.
