LINZ/VIENNA, 03.04.2023 – August Weichselbaumer, long-time Swietelsky top manager, takes over as the new COO in April, responsible for the company's business in Austria.
August Weichselbaumer is predestined for this task. From his previous roles as managing director of significant subsidiaries of the group and as head of commercial construction operations, he knows Swietelsky and the executives in Austria exceptionally well. He has impressively demonstrated his professional qualifications over more than 20 years as a top manager at Swietelsky.
Peter Krammer, CEO of Swietelsky, about his new board colleague: “I am very pleased that our supervisory board has appointed August Weichselbaumer as the new COO. I have known August Weichselbaumer since my time at Swietelsky in the early 2000s. Even in his early days, he made a name for himself with his performance and consistency in implementing strategic initiatives – also with his leadership qualities. His trustworthy and cooperative approach with his employees inspires, motivates, and leads his teams to peak performance. He is the optimal choice for this important position.”
In the future, a five-member board will steer the fortunes of Swietelsky: with the well-coordinated and recognized top managers Harald Gindl as CFO, Klaus Bleckenwegner as COO International, Peter Gal as COO Railway Construction, as well as Peter Krammer (CEO) and August Weichselbaumer (COO Austria) as new members of this circle. Together with all Swietelskys, they pursue one goal: to secure the success trajectory of the corporate group – despite challenging framework conditions – in the long term.
