The construction work on the section between Zaprešić and Zabok will last until March 2022.
On behalf of the state railway infrastructure company HŽ infrastruktura d.o.o., the SWIETELSKY branch in Croatia is carrying out construction work on the railway line near Zagreb. In addition to planning, geotechnical work such as the installation of gravel piles for approximately 50 kilometers is being carried out. Furthermore, the 24-kilometer railway line is being completely renewed. Four modernized stations, three stops, four underpasses, five new bridges, 35 pipelines for an underground water flow, new parallel roads along the railway, parking lots, and canopies will be created.
The project also includes the electrification of the railway and the construction of new substations. The use of safety and traffic control systems ensures safety, punctuality, and schedule stability. The investment amount is around 70 million euros, of which 85 percent is covered by EU funding.
