On January 12, 2024, the groundbreaking marked the start of construction for the State Service Center (LDZ) in Salzburg. In a joint venture, SWIETELSKY and the HABAU GROUP are implementing the project, which is distinguished by its central location near the main train station.
August Weichselbaumer (COO SWIETELSKY Austria) and Hubert Wetschnig (CEO HABAU GROUP) are jointly leading this project. With a net usable area of approximately 50,000 square meters, the construction teams are building the center using a modern wood hybrid construction method.
Innovative architecture and construction method
Weichselbaumer: "This flagship project is a beacon for the state of Salzburg. The size and location, combined with the wood hybrid construction method, require extensive know-how, which we bring together in the ARGE HABAU-SWIETELSKY with the best minds from both companies." Wetschnig: "With a volume of around 200 million euros, the State Service Center represents the largest current building project in Austria. The wood hybrid construction and the logistical challenge of a large construction site in an urban area make it particularly special."
A project of superlatives
The dimensions of the project are impressive: 13 floors, 2,500 wooden beams, 1,800 doors, and freshly cooked meals daily for about 800 people. The building designed by the architectural firm Burtscher-Durig is an example of sustainable administrative construction.
SWIETELSKY in the sign of the future
With foresight, innovation, and a strong partnership with the HABAU GROUP, we are setting new standards in construction. The planned completion at the end of 2026 will not only result in a modern administrative building but also a symbol for a sustainable future. For over 1,200 employees, we are creating an environment that offers a workplace and space for creativity and efficiency. In this way, we are significantly contributing to the development of a modern and sustainable urban landscape.
