International talents meet innovation: Erasmus interns in the Railway Construction Machinery division at SWIETELSKY

Between December 2 and 19, 2024, the Railway Construction Machinery division of SWIETELSKY AG welcomed three Erasmus interns from France for an educational internship. Under the guidance of Markus May and Thomas Steyrer, the young professionals gained exciting insights into the diverse world of railway construction and vehicle technology.

The internship program aimed to familiarize the participants with the essential fields of activity at SWIETELSKY and provide them with the opportunity to gain valuable practical experience in a new professional environment. Language barriers occasionally led to creative communication methods – often humorously using the so-called "hand-foot language" – which further strengthened the sense of community within the team.

During their stay, the interns became acquainted with specific tasks of the company, including machine programming as well as the manufacturing and repair of special components. They were particularly impressed by the size and variety of the workshops.
