New office building for MIC in Linz: Sustainability meets innovation

10.10.2024

A state-of-the-art office building for the software specialist MIC is being constructed in Linz, commissioned by BH Beteiligungs GmbH and realized by SWIETELSKY. The project sets new standards in sustainability and efficiency. From the first floor onwards, a wood-hybrid construction method is used, combining environmentally friendly materials and innovative building techniques. A photovoltaic system on the roof supports energy supply, while extensive green roofing improves the microclimate.

The construction, which began in February 2023 and is set to be completed in October 2024, includes five upper floors and two basement levels. With a gross floor area of 16,161 square meters and space for 500 employees as well as 190 parking spaces, the building also sets standards in its dimensions.

The successful implementation is attributed to the close collaboration among all parties involved. Manuel Egger, head of the structural engineering department, expresses his satisfaction with the construction progress: “Despite a delayed start, we managed to achieve the milestone of ‘building envelope tight’ before Christmas. This highlights the importance of efficient planning and state-of-the-art building techniques.”
