The SWIETELSKY branch for Structural Engineering East has been commissioned for the new school building in the 22nd district.
The construction started in November 2021. The official groundbreaking ceremony has now taken place. By September 2023, a 29-class compulsory school with daytime care (primary school and secondary school) will be built at Leopold-Kohr-Straße 6. Up to 775 children will be taught and cared for in the new school building. The school is divided into three parts: two three-story buildings and one four-story building.
The facades on the garden side will feature vertical greenery. The greenery protects against summer overheating. All flat roofs will also be extensively greened. Additionally, a photovoltaic system will be installed on the roof. An earth heat pump will heat the rooms in winter and keep them comfortably temperate in summer. "We are very happy and proud to be able to build an educational institution for the city of Vienna again after a long time and to contribute to the educational offensive as SWIETELSKY," says Thomas Kleiner, group leader at the SWIETELSKY branch for Structural Engineering East.
