Successful opening of the new SWIETELSKY office building in Trumau: A milestone for sustainability and collaboration
14.10.2024On October 3, 2024, the new SWIETELSKY office building in Trumau was ceremoniously opened. After a construction period of about one year, which began in June 2023 and ended on schedule in July 2024, a modern building is now available, offering a total usable area of 1,165 m² on a plot of land of 2,100 m². Of this, 590 m² is allocated to office spaces, currently accommodating 41 employees, with the possibility of increasing capacity to up to 50 workstations.
The building combines the business area of structural engineering Vienna/Lower Austria/Burgenland with the NL General Contractor Construction Lower Austria + Burgenland and the regional structural engineering, as well as the civil engineering business area East with the NL Lower Austria South/Vienna. The design of the building places special emphasis on functionality, sustainability, and a pleasant working environment. Employees had a say in the interior design, which includes ergonomic workspaces, modern meeting rooms, and a communal area with a kitchen and terrace.
Particular attention was paid to energy efficiency: An innovative heat pump solution provides heating and cooling through concrete core activation and underfloor heating. A photovoltaic system covers part of the energy needs, with the option for future retrofitting of a battery storage system. A ventilation system with heat recovery and moss walls improve indoor air quality and are also an optical highlight.
A large part of the work, including the shell construction, earthworks, sewer construction, and the outdoor facilities, was carried out in-house. Specifically, for the facade and the garden design, collaboration took place with subsidiary companies: JK Fassadenprofi GmbH took over the facade, while Hennerbichler was responsible for the design of the garden area. With the support of the BIM department DCS, the planning of the foreman was made more efficient, and the recording of the ceiling lines before concreting was precisely carried out using laser technology. The responsible parties are pleased with the successful implementation of a LEAN pilot project that ensured smooth processes during the construction phase.
The highlight of the opening was the ceremonial ribbon-cutting by CEO Peter Krammer, Martin Diesner, Tayyib Tetik, Markus Bröderer, Marlene Zeidler-Beck (Member of the Lower Austria State Parliament), Andreas Kollross (Mayor of Trumau and Member of the National Council), and Felix Ritter, who officially inaugurated the building together. The new office building sets a sign for sustainable innovation and a modern work culture.
