18.10.2024

Linz/Vienna/Traunstein, 18 October 2024 – Swietelsky AG confirms the acquisition of the Knäble Group. The acquisition by the German SWIETELSKY Baugesellschaft m.b.H. is to be finalised at the beginning of November 2024.

The corresponding contract was signed on 30 September 2024; the merger control by the antitrust authority in accordance with the German Act against Restraints of Competition (GWB) was concluded with a clearance. It is expected that the assets of the Knäble Group will be transferred to Swietelsky on 1 November 2024.

The Knäble Group, based in Biberach in Baden-Württemberg, is a long-established company in the road construction and civil engineering sector and includes an asphalt mixing plant. Most recently, the group was involved in insolvency proceedings under its own administration. Prior to the signing of the contract, the workforce was informed of Swietelsky's intention to purchase the company at a staff meeting. The entire active workforce of the Knäble Group will be taken over. Customer orders will also be continued.

‘The highly competent team at the Knäble Group has shown a willingness to continue on this path together with the new owner and to continue to demonstrate its expertise. We at Swietelsky very much appreciate working with this motivated, strong team,’ says Helwig Falch, Managing Director of Swietelsky Germany.

‘With the acquisition of the Knäble Group, Swietelsky is strengthening its regional expertise and presence in the field of road construction and civil engineering with a focus on the circular economy in southern Germany and is continuing to expand in the strategically important German market,’ says Peter Krammer, CEO of Swietelsky AG.
