SWIETELSKY builds Ginkgo Hall in Oberwaltenreith (NÖ)

29.07.2022

In November 2021, the hall and a large part of the infrastructure for drying herbs were destroyed by a fire. The NÖ Nord branch of the concrete construction department rebuilt it in just five months.

The client, Waldviertler Special Crop Association, was in a hurry: To avoid the loss of the harvest or drying in 2022, the construction time was kept short. “We are driven by the growing seasons, which is why we had to start with the new halls immediately. Otherwise, we could have lost an entire year,” says WALDLAND Managing Director Zinner. In January and February 2022, the submission and execution planning was created. Construction began on March 1. The new hall area is approximately 5000 square meters and is divided into five fire sections.

Even during the construction phase, WALDLAND began assembling the drying system. It extends over the hall section with a length of 55 meters. The team around department head Peter Schmidt, site manager Jürgen Hackl, and foreman Hubmaier Christoph completed the remaining halls within the specified construction time in parallel to the dryer setup. The new hall will be put into operation on August 1. The order volume for SWIETELSKY amounts to around 1.9 million euros.
