With a symbolic groundbreaking ceremony, the official construction start took place in early December.
“The interest was great and the feedback very positive,” summarizes Mayor Thomas Schwab. The new building is necessary because the existing fire station in the town center is not only too small but also no longer in sufficiently good condition. Renovating the building, which was constructed in 1968 and used as a bakery until 1980, would not be economically viable.
In addition to the new fire station, three ancillary projects will be realized on the site at the edge of the village towards Moosbrunn: a recreational park with a ball sports field, a skate park, and a fitness area, as well as a dedicated parking lot for the cemetery and the renovation of the dilapidated cemetery wall. The latter will be carried out by SWIETELSKY as part of the construction work. "This brings sensible synergies from our perspective," emphasizes Mayor Schwab. The completion of the new fire station is planned for November 2024.
