Swietelsky Rail Polska sp. z o.o. has won the largest tender in the company's history: the project awarded by PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe S.A. (PKP PLK) comprises planning and construction services as part of the National Railway Programme with a total contract value of around EUR 200 million.
Investment of national importance
The project involves the expansion and modernisation of the railway line on the Stalowa Wola – Tarnobrzeg – Sandomierz – Ocice – Padew section, one of the most important infrastructure projects in the region. Construction work will continue until the second half of 2027 and includes the modernisation of around 100 km of track, 90 km of overhead lines, the reconstruction of 7 bridges, the renovation of 78 culverts, 94 turnouts and 59 level crossings, the modernisation of 8 stations and the construction of 17 new platforms.
Strategic added value for the region
This investment will bring about a lasting improvement in transport connections in the so-called ‘Trójstyk/Tripoint’ area. The aim is to increase the safety and quality of rail transport, shorten journey times and make rail more attractive for both passenger and freight transport.
