SWIETELSKY Rail Technology, a Hungarian subsidiary of the Austrian Swietelsky AG, offers young talents exciting insights and career opportunities in railway construction. As part of a talent management program conducted in collaboration with the Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME), young engineers Márton Suga, Dávid Bódai, and Dávid Szabó share their experiences and impressions.
Entry into Rail Technology
Márton Suga came to SWIETELSKY Rail Technology through his long-standing interest in railways. "I had heard of the company before, as I have been interested in railways for a long time," says Márton. Dávid Bódai found his way to SWIETELSKY through the scholarship program: "Even in vocational school, I was interested in construction: I graduated as a construction technician, from where it was almost natural for me to apply for training as a civil engineer." Dávid Szabó came into contact with SWIETELSKY through the thematic focus of his thesis. "Even when I was little, I was interested in building and transportation," says Dávid.
Tasks and Experiences in the Scholarship Program
The scholarship program provided comprehensive insights and practical experiences. Dávid Bódai describes: "The company organized various programs for us: Although we were not involved in any specific construction performance, we were able to learn how the company operates and what machines it uses through site visits and courses," explains Dávid. Márton Suga adds that the program was not only useful and interesting but also offered a wide range of knowledge and insights into railway construction. "The scholarship program was not only useful and interesting, but we also had the opportunity to learn about railway construction in a very broad spectrum," adds Márton.
The Fascination of Railway Construction
For Dávid Bódai, the fascination of railway construction lies in the complexity and diversity of the process. "Many disciplines must work together before you can finally board a train that can run on a well-functioning track," says Dávid. Márton Suga particularly appreciates the planning and logistics but also sees the enormous learning potential in every discipline of railway construction. Dávid Szabó finds the construction phase of the railway particularly exciting. His goal is to work in a company that offers him insights into all construction phases to gain a comprehensive understanding.

Working at SWIETELSKY Rail Technology is characterized by a supportive environment and varied activities. The cooperation of colleagues and the opportunity to gain practical experience through diverse tasks is important. Daily variation and international collaboration make the company attractive to young people. Dávid Szabó emphasizes the helpfulness and practical learning experiences that go beyond university studies.

Dávid Szabó appreciates the opportunity to experience different phases of railway construction and try new things. Additionally, the company's international network provides valuable experiences and learning opportunities. In contrast, Márton Suga particularly values the variety of tasks, ranging from office work to site visits. This variety and the comprehensive support from the company enable young engineers to build their careers purposefully.

Further Education and Training
SWIETELSKY Rail Technology places great importance on further education and training. Even during the scholarship program, there were comprehensive training sessions on topics such as environmental protection, quality assurance, and Autodesk Civil 3D. These trainings focused on the specific requirements of railway construction and the software's design. Márton Suga emphasizes: "We find that they welcome and support someone who has a personal motivation to delve into a field."
These young engineers demonstrate how SWIETELSKY Rail Technology provides a platform for them to build their careers and unleash their passion for railway construction.
