Oberes Hausfeld

The SWIETELSKY team has been working on a new and exciting project in Vienna since November 2023 as a general contractor (part-GU excl. building services). The client is Kallco Development GmbH. Together with the owner WAG from Linz, we are developing a future-oriented construction project in the 22nd district.

The project comprises of 1200 flats with commercial space, kindergartens and multi-storey car parks on 10 building plots. This corresponds to an impressive 67,000 m² of usable space and 800 car parking spaces. As part general contractor, we are responsible for this important project, which is intended to set a benchmark for sustainable construction.

Sustainable energy supply for a green future

We are particularly proud of the innovative energy supply for this project. With around 50,000 metres of deep drilling for geothermal energy and a photovoltaic system, we are setting new standards in terms of sustainability. The project will be partially self-sufficient in terms of energy generation and fulfils the high standards of Climate Active Gold certification and the EU taxonomy.

Milestones and construction progress

After an intensive EIA process that took four years, we started construction work in November 2023. The first construction phase is expected to last until 2027. The shell construction work is currently in full swing. A special highlight was the ground-breaking ceremony on 14 May 2024, which marked the official start of this extensive construction project.

A big thank you to the dedicated SWIE project team under TGBL Erich Laller, TGL Franz Marcial Keindl, project manager Christoph Hornof and his construction management team Ilija Andrijanic, Verena Berger, Mario Hirschl, Manfred Schneider, Johannes Tischler and Nikola Matic on site, who do a great job every day.
