The digital transformation of the construction industry is largely driven by Building Information Modeling (BIM). BIM is a forward-looking method for the networked planning of construction projects that goes far beyond the actual planning process and encompasses the entire lifecycle of a building.

Informed decisions throughout the entire building lifecycle

The digital capture, modeling, and combination of all relevant building data creates a reliable basis for decision-making throughout the entire planning, construction, and operational phases.

BIM provides a valuable shared knowledge resource throughout the entire planning, construction, and operational phases.

What are the advantages of BIM-based 3D models?

Particularly in the bidding phase, intelligent 3D models massively reduce the workload. Instead of relying on PDF plans of varying quality, BIM enables precise cost estimates. For example, all relevant concrete items can be extracted for review with just a single click.

This has been successfully proven in SWIETELSKY pilot projects such as the tramway routes "Wiedner Hauptstraße" and "Universitätsstraße" (a collaboration between the subsidiary Kallinger, the BIM Infrastructure/DCS expert group, and the Civil Engineering department Vienna/Lower Austria).

SWIETELSKY also offers digital solutions for road construction, railway construction (including public transport), special foundation engineering, and earthworks.
